Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History Bus Trip

The day for our trip to the Yale Peabody Museum finally arrived. Thirty-two members were able to make the trip. The rain that lasted most of the trip didn't dampen the enthusiasm. Stefan Nicolescu, the Collections Manager, offered to give us a guided tour of the David Friend Mineral Hall. We entered this magnificent Hall with amazing displays of incredible minerals, presented in a very dramatic setting. Members were in awe of some of the large and exquisite specimens, that David Friend had donated to the Museum. There were also displays of private collectionsfrom all over the US that were on loan to the Museum. Many members commented that it was one of the best trips that they ever experienced. The Dinosaur and Fossil Hall is also an amazing collection and well worth the trip. It is truly a “World Class Museum”.
