"Significant Massachusetts Mineral" Cases for Schools

Also: > See More About Our Booklet for School Case's <

The Connecticut Valley Mineral Club based at the Springfield Museum complex in Springfield , Massachusetts. We established our “ Significant Massachusetts Minerals” School Case Program in 2010 and so far we have donated MANY mineral cases to schools, collages, state parks and nature centers.

The attractive glass cased collection contains official Massachusetts State rocks, minerals and fossils from locations in Massachusetts.

All minerals are displayed with labels indicating the minerals and their source. A brochure is included explaining details about the specimens and their significance.

Case's will be donated to Elementary Schools in the Connecticut River Valley, with plans to expand the program in the future.

The Connecticut Valley Mineral Club has been an active club for over 70 years. The membership is very diverse, with approximately 180 members consisting of amateur collectors, mineralogists through professors of geology. The group promotes geology, mineralogy, the lapidary arts, paleontology and educational programs for elementary school age children. They meet monthly from September through June at the Springfield Science Museum. The club sponsors a weekend Mineral, Jewelry, and Fossil show held once a year at the end of March, presently at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center, 1 Atwood Drive, exit 18 off Route 91 in Northampton, Massachusetts. This show is open to the public. A portion of the proceeds from the Show go to produce these School Case's.
